Yes, I do realize it’s January and this blog post is a bit late. However, I think I’m going to write a few blog posts in January, and I thought a book update was long overdue.
Honestly, since it’s been over a month since November ended, I don’t have a whole hell of a lot to say about it. NaNoWriMo was 100% virtual, and that was interesting. It was my last year co-ML-ing in my old region (I’ll miss you, Yolo County Wrimos!).
Oh yeah, and I finished my novel.
Oh, you want me to say that again? I FINISHED MY NOVEL! The first (er, third) draft, anyway.
I didn’t win NaNo at only 40k words, but I finished that damn thing, and I am so very proud of myself.
What’s next? Well, revisions have begun, and my goal is to have them done by the time my critique group meets in February. Which means I’ll have it ready for you all by … sometime in 2022. That’s the goal, anyway.
I also have some ideas for book 2, which will follow a different character, so revisions for book 1 will include adjusting the tone so they flow a bit better. The overall plot will be the same, but the characters are so very different, despite them being siblings.
Um, I also did a thing to help with my chronic fatigue, so I actually have energy to write. Other stuff is still going to get in the way, but my fatigue won’t be one of them! So yay for that!
Anyway, on to 2021! Revisions! Writing more books! Reading? Yes, even reading!
